  Special day Last talk "No formula"

  this weekend at our special assembly day, let gods will take place the final talk was a head shaker.... the bethel speaker was quite entertaining when he joked @ the shortcomings of the elders.

  he also made us laugh with the comment "we were told the end of the system is right around the corner, but we've found its been more than that, we've been around the blocks a few times.

  " he told the young ones to make the truth their own by researching in the wtbts publication (only).

  Today's Watchtower Lesson Really Bothered Me...

  i was a hair away from telling my wife i never wanted to go to the kingdom hall again after today's watchtower.

  the conductor mentioned something along the lines of..."if you think having to shun your disfellowshipped children is bad...you should read up on the israelites.

  when one of their children was disobedient to the law, they had to take the before the judges so that they could be stoned to death...and guess who's job it was throw the first stone?".

  "the most peaceable era in human existence"

  the above is a phrase taken from an article written by steven pinker in the review of this weekends wall street journal.

  the title is violence vanquished and presents the thought that human history has been so loaded with tribal violence in particular, that our current era is "the most peaceable era in human existence".. battle deaths and murder generally have declined substantially across centuries to the low level they generally are today.

  i admit i am mystified as to why we don't see much more violence and crime at present, in this ugly economy.

  Definition of Necessary Business

  warning a df or da of a fire in a bldg, is not nb.

  providing a ride for the df, or da when it assists them in their duress, is not nb.

  Necessary business= if the believing person is in dire need, then the Dfd person has the right/obligation to help, rather than the " christian " congregation.

  Please note, this arrangement is not reciprocle.

  New Strategy?? Any thoughts?

  recently i have received notes/letters with tracts enclosed from jw's.

  they are coming from a kingdom hall i wasn't affiliated with, and from people i don't know.

  i have been disassociated since 1996. but these letters are addressed to me (name spelled correctly with current address).

  Contact with disfellowshipped ones considered worthy of the effort at least, is co-ordinated by the BOE and a visit in person is organised, that is, an elder is appointed to come and see you.

  The BOE is responsable for their own territory. Are you in the territory from where the letters are coming?

  Normally their spy network should have passed on your address so that they should know that you are disfellowshipped. However, if they dont, it would be easy enough in many countries, to get the name of someone living at an address which is constantly a not home, and sending a letter to the householder.

  Why not throw it on the fire?

  this appeared in 1975; i was 23 at the time.

  i don't remember this article and if i had been born in 1975 would the 36-year-old i'd be today be motivated for any reason to research it.. *** w75 11/1 p. 651 insight on the news ***insight on the news pray now, pay later.

  the phrase pray now, pay later appeared in a headline of the philadelphia inquirer in reporting on a church experiment due to go into effect shortly.

  last night at 2am i was awoken by the sound of cuboards in the room next to mine being opened and iteams falling out of them.

  it terrifiled me, i lay awake listening further for hours in case the burgalars tried anything else.... when the morning came i went into that room, to find it all as it should be... nothing disturbed at all... no break in at all.. this has happened several times to me over the past few years.

  no its not the neighbours i live in a deatched house.

  It costs about the same here too. However, if you can afford it one day, you may well find that you only need one or two sessions. Have you talked to your doctor. Where I live, they can make referals to a free councellor, though the waiting list is sometimes a bit long.

  Anyway, taking reasonable precautions, like locking your door, is very wise. For the rest, try just telling yourself that it is just in your mind, and is caused by your own understandable fear. With the right approach, the problem should dissappear. Though a councellor would really be ideal if you can get one oneday.
